Welcome...

Hello everyone!  I am set to leave for the next chapter of my life on January 22, 2006 to work on a project called "Learning at Taonga Market" in Zambia for the next two years!!

This website is a place for anyone interested in information on Zambia, The Peace Corps, my program, and my experience there. This site is going to be a continuous work in progress, so please check back often.

I tried to address most of the questions that people have asked me.  Above are the links to my Web Journal, Forum, and Photos. Feel free to check them out. And now kick back, relax, and explore the site...

Staying in Touch

Do you love me?
Or even just like me maybe a little?
Want to practice your penmanship?

If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions, then please write to me!  I'm sure that I will be craving letters/photos/whatever from home.  No matter how long or short, it will be greatly appreciated while I'm half-a-world away.  And here's how you can do it - My address for the first three months of training will be: (I'll update this when I learn where I'll be stationed after training.)

Heather Barron, PCT
PEACE CORPS
PO BOX 21527
KITWE, ZAMBIA

International postage for a letter is only $0.84 and should arrive in 2-4 weeks (minimum).  Please number any letters you send so that I make sure that I've received them all, and write "Air Mail" and "Par Avion" on the envelopes.

I'm not asking for care packages (yet ), but if you do send anything over to me make sure that you write "$0.00" if it asks for an amount, and "Used Religious Materials" for the contents.  It sounds strange, but I have to pay a duty fee on any packages and anything related to religion is less likely to be tampered with since Zambia is a highly Christian country.

THANK YOU!
